Last Friday evening inside The Shop Accra was all good music and great vibes. No lie. The event: Senses with M.anifest. And the pleasant indoor space of The Shop, Accra was filled to capacity. Everything that the event promised, it delivered. And then gave so much more.

Proceedings aptly began with an observation of a minutes silence in honour of the departed musician, Ebony Reigns.

Flanked by a violinist and a guitarist, M.anifest went on to perform vibely renditions of several of his songs; which vibeliness was very much befitting of the intimacy of the ambience.

Songs performed on the evening were selected from the god mc’s first project, Manifestations, all through to his latest, 2016’s ‘Nowhere Cool.’

Senses with M.anifest was an interactive event. And to add to the intimacy of the mood, M.anifest shared anecdotes about songs performed and his creative process, and invited questions from the audience. Invited too, were members of the audience to make requests – and to even perform them together with M dot.

It was all such fun. The short musical film made out of the song Simple Love – off the Nowhere Cool album – was also premiered. If the audience’s reactions to the screenings are anything to go by, then its a lovely film, which will be very well-received by the general public when it’s released online – sometime in the coming weeks, as mentioned by M.anifest.

There was more: exclusives. an unreleased M.anifest joint, and another one with Worlasi – from their forthcoming joint project.

If you missed this, here’s some sound advice: the next time M.anifest announces a show, don’t slack!
