The Hungarian Embassy in association with Sena Dagadu and her BlackBird team are organizing a series of events to be held at three venues, to mark the maiden edition of the Hungarian Cultural Week in Ghana.
After a variety of events – ranging from a Hungarian culinary presentation at the Kempinski Hotel to a mini Hungarian Film Festival and children’s workshop at Rockstone’s Office – between the 11th to the 16th of March, a major musical concert at Alliance Française, Accra, will close off the program on Friday 17th March.
According to the event’s official press release, “16 Hungarian musician [will] unite their forces with Accra’s own music legends to create a unique musical experience.”
Wanlov The Kubolor will perform on this night alongside Stevo the kologo player, and Hungarian urban folk band, Zuboly. Sena Dagadu and her six piece band will bring out VVIP and one of Ghana’s most vibrant young stars, Worlasi, for her performance.
Hungarian/Ghanaian band RedRed – formed by Ghanaian rapper-singer Mensa Ansah and Hungarian music producer Marton Elo – will also bless the stage at this closing concert. They will perform alongside the legendary Gyedu Blay Amboley and Tumi Ansah.
There will be many more performances on this night which will climax what promises to be an exciting week of cultural activities. Tickets for the concert will sell at the gate for 15GHS on the night of the show.
