Rapper Ayat has had a great year, undoubtedly. He’s been featured on some of the major songs and projects that were released this year, has had some of the most remarkable performances on the several stages he’s rocked, bagged a Sarkodie feature – if you listened to the premiere of this song (Dodo) on Yfm’s morning show with Ms Naa, you know how much this means to Ayat – and only two days ago released a vibrant video for “the jam,” YAUWA.

It’s only right that such a stuffed cake be completed with the perfect icing; and together with DJ Yoga and Shock Entertainment, Ayat is doing just that; they’re producing and presenting the MADFEST – an acronym for Music of African Descent Festival, though it’s understandable -and therefore pardonable – that one would presume that it’s an acronym for MADINA FESTIVAL.

According to Ayat, the motive for putting together this concert is simply to showcase the numerous, enormous talents in Madina and it’s environs. “There’s a lot talent in and around Madina that never gets attention; so the goal is to shine the light on us every December instead of waiting for promoters or event organizers to put us on their bill,” the rapper said.

MADFEST is coming through with a very tall list of performers – from the very popular -Ayat, Akan, Teephlow, Medikal, Worlasi- to the many relatively unknown talents.

Ayat envisages a future where MADFEST is one of the biggest upcoming/indie focused festivals in Africa.

Now, show that become realised in the future, wouldn’t you love to be able to say that you were a part of it’s very beginning? Well then, you should show up at Number 1 Park inside Madina at 4 p.m. on Thursday 22nd December 2016.

And oh, It’s absolutely free.
