This year’s edition of the annual ACCRA HIPHOP WEEK will be happening between next Saturday, 19th November and the one after – 26th November 2016. In the three years in which its been running, this is the second time the main organisers, Alliance Francaise Accra is collaborating with yoyo tinz – after last years’ debut collaboration – to produce the event. The weeklong event will feature several events/activities of the various elements of hip hop – from workshops on DJing to the Nuse concert headlined by “everyone’s favourite artist,” Worlasi.

SATURDAY 19TH NOVEMBER, 2016
WORKSHOP (on beatbox)

This beatboxing masterclass will involve 8-12 people, who will be trained on methods and given tips to master the art. Yoshi and Faya Braz will be the facilitators of this workshop.

CONCERT (THE BEAT AND THE VOICE)

This Graffiti Master Class will be facilitated by award-winning French graffiti artist Lazoo. Participants will be engaged in an educative workshop which will result in the creation of a mural on the walls of Alliance Francaise, and other walls around the city.

Video mapping is a new and exciting video-projection technique that can turn virtually any surface into a screen. This special workshop with videomapper BA.BA will be an introduction to this growing art form. Techniques of video mapping using impressive visual effects will be taught.

The ACCRA HIPHOP WEEK will climax with the much anticipated Nuse concert by Supreme Rights artiste, Worlasi. The concert takes it’s name from the title of Worlasi’s debut mixtape/album, Nuse. He’ll headline the concert and have performances by artistes featured on the tape and other acts. This concert is organised by Alliance Francaise in collaboration with Supreme Rights.
